Alright everybody, I need replacements. The drivers side shaft snapped like a twig and I'm looking for something more robust. JeepinAl is checking on the JE Reel shafts for me, but what other options are out there?

I'm having a hard time even locating stock replacements, Jeep told me a grand for one side! I want to upgrade both sides and have spares.

So what broke with it anyway? The shaft, or the cv joint? Any pics?

O'Reilly Auto Parts and Autozone both have rebuilt halfshafts. I'm sure that they are no stronger than OE, but they are a heck of a lot cheaper than going to the dealer. O'Reilly's list them for less than $100 each.

if you call DSS (Drive Shaft Shop) they can make shafts to what ever length you need... and they come in varying stages: OEM-Stg IV. Another company that comes to mind is Axle Systems... I'm unsure if they would list the parts, but a quick email should find out.
