Will either of these work for regearing to 4.10? Does brand matter too much? Spline count shouldn't matter since I'm changing everything, right? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jeep-Cherokee-Ring-Pinion-Gear-Chrysler-8-1-4-8-25-4-10_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33731QQihZ015QQitemZ250026176008QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V http://www3.jjc.edu/FL05/ghedlin/gears.html I will do these up front... http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/index.cfm?action=getLocator&siteid=213923&chapter=DP3043&appSectionid=20&groupid=10016&subgroupid=20042&componentid=61552&make=17&model=Liberty&year=2002&graphicID=T043060&callout=15&catalogid=1 Does anyone see any problems with this setup??? Thanks in advance. |

I'd get the rears from rockyroad. http://www.rocky-road.com/kjsus.html Remember that only the rears they sell will work. You still have to get the fronts from the link you posted. |

Why will their gears be the only ones that work??? The only reason I ask is because I just bought the rears from Rusty... Edit: I re-read your post and now I understand. Yes I bought the rears from Rusty and the fronts are Mopar. |

you should be set then. I'm sure Rusty's are just as good as the US Ring & Pinion that Rocky Road sells. Sorry about confusing you. I didn;t mean that only Rocky Road will work, I meant that the front gears Rocky Road sells won't. |

I recently called RR and they said that they would work up front. What is the reason why they will not? |

They are designed for the Dana 30. We have a Dana 30a. This is what Al had said about them.. "The Dana 30A pinion gear in the front have longer shafts than the reg. Dana 30. This is what I was told a while back by a guy at Dana. I belive no after market company has gear sets yet. I have swapped in the 4.10, they work fine, but I need 4.56's with the 33's. |

Thanks in advance. Skyjump, that first link (from ebay) is for 27 spline. Your 8.25 is 29 spline. Do you want a weaker rearend? |

I haven't really found any 4.10 gears for the 8.25 in a 29 spline...guess I'll install whatever Rusty's sends me. Lemme know if I made a mistake here...have you seen any aftermarket 4.10 gears with 29 spline??? |

http://www.ringpinion.com/content/products/default.asp?vid=0&pid=4&aid=18&rid=43 Does it say anywhere whether that is 27 or 29 spline though? I even looked on the manufacturer's site and it didn't specify. And how does 4.11 work with the 4.10 front or is that just a typo or is the difference to small to matter? |

I'm pretty sure they are 29 spline. You can put 4.11's or 4.09's with 4.10's with no problems. They're so close that they are generally considered to be the same thing. |
