4.10 gears – front (Mopar raped me on this) and rear
Pinion Bearings and master install kits
12v ARB Compressor
ARB air locker – 8.25
Detroit TruTrack – Dana 30
JSK Quicker Disconnects

Total for parts shipped to my door = $2100 + labor quote of $850 = grand total of $2950!!!

Hopefully this thing will be able to crawl over small homes in a single bound....or something like that.

Who did you find to do the installs? That price isn't too bad for everything. Did you get a compressor for the ARB too? I hope so. :D

Ouch, just shy of what I paid for frt & rr Rubicon D44's, and Rock-Trac Transfer case.
Should be cool when you are done though.

Yes, the compressor is in the list above...maybe some new glasses are in order?

I called the place you recommended, Astro Automotive, and they said their gear guy no longer works there. BUT they recommended Al's National Differential (which is most definitely not "national"). Al himself answered the phone, knew about the KJ IFS, and quoted the lowest price off the bat. Definitely have a good feeling about this shop. Everywhere else was a couple hundred more and I had to remind them that the KJ had IFS...or I got stuck in their automated phone system waiting for a "sales representative" to answer my call.

Oops, guess I do need glasses. No wonder they wouldn't give me a license.

Looks like a good time to upgrade that 8.25 diff cover, if you had any money left. Doesn't look like your anniversary will be very expensive.

Yeah, I get some new Jeep toys and she gets an upgrade to her ring... So I guess if you add that cost then I didn't make out so well. :?

That's the same setup I have and I like it very much.Just one thing though you might want to also look at Yukon Gear&Axle's 29-spline axles for the KJ,they are 25% stronger than stock(stronger is always better) and I only paid $115.00 apiece from 4WheelParts.Also make sure you got the new 3-gear detriot truetrac,it's much stronger than the older 2-gear one's.

I'm in trouble now! Joel, Jen would always base her expectations on how you did going through an obstacle (since we were comparably equiped). Something along the lines of "Unless Joel plans to go through that, you're not going to even try it." Now I guess you're going to start taking the same lines as Ted ... then again, maybe not

On the other hand, I may not be in trouble. I might be able to convince her that since you, Ted, and Troy are all locked, that I should be too.

I've done all my other work up to this point (including diffs), but this time with the gearing change, the ARB and the TT...it's worth it to me to have a pro handle it. I am going to do the compressor, air line, and disconnects of course...that's easy stuff. Gear work scares me though...
