| Post subject: | Wheel Questions |
So, if I pick up a pair of these wheels in the 16x8 size (5 on 4.5 and 4.25" of backspacing) or the 16x7 size (5 on 4.5 and 4" of backspacing), will I have any clearance issues? I plan on running 245/75 tires after either a Frankenlift or a Rusty's lift. Also, I'm considering just buying the OME parts (so, no spacers... just coils and struts), which they say will give a 40mm (1.5") lift. Could I run that tire / wheel combo with that lift? I don't plan on doing too much harcore wheeling... just some old logging roads in the hills around here (so ride quality is a must). Also, if I decide later that I want the extra inch, I could just order the spacers from one of the lift companies who use the OME parts in their setups (like Frankenlift), right? Thanks for the information! I'm brand new to the 4WD world... |

If you have to choose one of those sizes, I would say the 7" with 4.0" bs. For an 8" rim you would realy need more like 4.75"-5.0" bs to keep from rubbing as much. I test fitted a set of 8's with 4.5" bs and they still rubbed alot. Would have been ok with the Frankinlift, but not my 2" lift. |

Maybe it's just ours, but with an Eagle Alloys 16x8 with 4.5" bs with my BFG A/T LT245/75R-16 we got rubbing just turning the wheels back & forth while sitting on flat pavement. I have allready flatend the pinch weld & taken a heat gun to the front. Don't have any problems behind the tire, just in front of it. Don't want to cut it up anymore than I have. |

i was looking at the same rim and i will be getting the frankenlift there was two diffrent 15x8 one of them had a backspacing of 3.75 and the other had 4.5 so if i get this correctly i wouldnt be able to run the 3.75 but i would be able to run the 4.5 |

deffinetly use the 4.5"bs, just make sure the 15's don't hit the brakes. |
