I am taking a quick pole and trying to see if their will be any interest in a tube steel pre-runner/rock crawler style bumper. I am in the process of mocking up the prototype as we speak....er,...type? I will post picks as soon as i have them. expected price range to be between 250.00-350.00 bucks and well UNDER 100 lbs. any takers...?

Does this replace the plastic bumper cover?

absolutly. the only thing the installer will have to do is relocate the windshield washer resivor and ,depending on the year of the KJ cut the portion of the OE bumper which houses the turn singnal.

COOL but let's see the proto type on a KJ when it's finished then we'll see keep in mind which I'm sure you have, a majority of us have 02-04's but it looks cool

I second the prototype shots too, also are you making these yourself, or just designing them and having them built.

Give us your thoughts, what are they to be made of, are you considering winch mounts, front receiver, shackles, jacking points, approach angles, etc?

Usually someone else beats me to the punch, guess I got lucky that time.

Also remember the 05's and 06's we need stuff too.

Totally awesome! Exactly what I am look for!

My only concern is that since this is replacing the stock bumper cover it might look too bare, I could be wrong though well have to see in the proto shots.

i think it would be perfect if you could some how retain the stock bumper and have it sit either on top or over the bumper.

Those are my favorite style of bumper, can't wait to see what they look like on a kj. Very interested.

If you can keep the price that low I think you would sell a ton of them.

If you look at some of the ones for the trucks, they also have a steel plate welded in to the back of the tube assy to fill it the bare spots some.

I want to replace my front plastic bumper with something that will allow me to use my front Drawtight/Reese hitch, and protect as much of the front from Bambi and other road hazards. If this is it I would consider buying one.

As long as it doesn't expose anything nessecary or vulnerable, make the washer res. relocate annoying, fills in the bareness that may accompany an open concept pre-runner bumper, weighs what you think it will, opens up the wheel clearance, and fits an '06 Renegade (put tabs in the middle or top for the fogs) and has a location for turn signals.....etc.....

I coould be interested. Lets see a built and mounted proto. If you have an 05-06 available mount it there to......or photo-chop as nessecary..

Sounds like a great idea....good price to.
