Ok, I'm doing research on lights as I'm planning on getting my roof rack for my tire in Nov or Dec. I want to use four of these http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat21412-cat20133&id=0004055513221a&navCount=5&podId=0004055&parentId=cat20133&masterpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=IG&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat20133&hasJS=true

And put two driving lights on the roof with the 5900 foot range and two fogs on the brush guard with the 500 foot range. Would that work well? And what kinda toll does these lights take on the battery?

Well, as far as lights I think those are pretty good (but I'm a biased Hella person myself ). You might want to read John's (Kugellager) write-up on his light bar for info on the electricals. I don't think the lights would draw too much as long as you keep the stock bulbs, but a higher ouput alternator couldn't hurt.

Oh, and ya might try making the link shorter, like this:

feel free to copy it into your post if you want.

Desertkj, check out this site. They have them for about ten bucks cheaper a set and free shipping on orders over $100, I have gotten a few thing s from them before and was always satisfied.

Hmm, Amazon.com has the fogs for $63, and the 4x4connection store on Amazon has the driving lights for the same price. Might want to check them out.

You can also get them on e-bay cheap...

I have a set of 500s, and I replaced the 55W halogen bulbs with 100W halogen bulbs (and commensurately larger wiring).

THey're the best lights I've ever had!

Sweet! Thanks for doing the research for me! And Corwyyn, I can't get the cut and paste thing to work. Is there a way you could wire those up to a single switch so you could toggle between two on, the other two on,or all four on?
