LOST JEEPS :: View topic - RRO Budget lift?

The front exclusively uses our Rocky Road strut spacers. These spacers do not go inside the struts, all lift is obtained outside the strut assembly. We've heard of other shops using thin steel, but if you punish your Liberty the way we do, you'll be happy for the overkill engineering behind our strut spacers.

The strut spacer itself is built from two plates and a spacer setup. The bottom plate measures 3/8" thick and is double welded (top and bottom) to a 1/4" thick DOM spacer tube. The upper plate is 1/2" thick material! We guarantee our strut spacer for life. It cannot and will not ever fail!

The strut spacer provides a 2.5" lift for the front end and does not change the ride quality or handling of the vehicle. The struts are as exactly the same as factory spec since the front coils are not compressed inside the strut assembly. You maintain full compression and extension of the front strut system, a great ride, and lift to clear nice-looking larger tires.

I just read their ad on ebay and they went through a lot of trouble explaining everything about the spacer lift and comparing it to others. Their combo lift is supposed to be good though.

If it's such a great lift than why are none of the rigs in the pictures not using it? They also seem to be the only people that had a problem with the Daystar lifts.

The RRO 2.125" Combo is ok, but stay away from the Budget lift.

Safer with a 2" lift...with Upper Ball Joints ect. The RevTek has a good 2" lift that is around $225.00...just add longer rear shocks The RRO Combo lift is good too

The top plate is just a plate...not the notorious Spacers...I have never heard anyone complain about that setup.

I have a 2.5 spacer lift and no problems what so ever, it is the same OTT lift as the one described here. I have longer bump stops to prevent the strut from bottoming out, and THAT is your only worry. THere are many other people on this board running a spacer with no problems. Only go with a full suspension lift if you are planning on doing heavy off roading.

I had the RRO OTT lift, and it blew my stock struts within a week. I took it off and put their RockFatherII lift on and I'm much happier. If you can afford it, I'd replace your springs with a kit like the Frankenlift or RockFather, instead of trying to do a big metal strut spacer in front. TRUST me, you'll be happy you did.

I have the RRO Budget on my KJ and haven't had any troubles as of yet. I have onyl had it on for about 4 months but have wheeled it in a lot of mud and water since. No complaints on this end of things. It does definately look great, especially with the 31" BFG MT's! Anyone who had a budget lift that's not happy with it, please PM and let me know where you had troubles!! If it's too bad, I'll just buy a combo since they seem to work very well. Thanks!!

alright i know this is a little off-topic as far as brands, but i've heard of the rusty's spacer lift blows front struts too. i could understand if was actual incresing travel in the strut. but if u look at it it really doesn't because it just sits on top of the strut mount. so could someone tell me why and how it could possibly blow the struts??????????

The plate sits on top of the strut assembly pushing the unit down and increasing wheel travel. since the stock bump stops are too short the strut when fully compressed will bottom out and never hit the bump stop. This will cause them to blow. All you have to do it get longer bump stops or find some other way to prevent the strut from bottoming out. There is a guy on here who used some thick hosing and tie straps to fill in the gap between the bump stop and the compressed strut. no big deal and it doesn't cost alot of money.

I have had my 2.5" RRO OTT lift for 18,000 miles. I do mostly on road driving and occasional offroading. Most of it is on the beach, on sand dunes, but pretty hard riding. I have not had a problem. If all you are going for is for looks then get this lift. But if you take it out on the trails like most of these other guys, it's worth the money to get a Frankenlift etc.
