I saw on 4 wheeler tv today, a Jeep run to Moab... and there was some company called skunk works with a flat green KJ, and they said a superlift 4" kit... and they said it was running 35's! They realy did not look like 35's, but who knows. I got a total of 4 inches out of my custom lift, and I dont think I could get 33's under there very well, let alone 35's.

whats the scoop?

Liberator has always had 35's since it was first built 3 years ago. We saw it at the Jeep tent display at EJS there in 04. Superlift recently got it back, before Moab EJS 06, and started wheeling it to test out the lift they initially built for it. There are other threads around here about it, search 'em out.

Does this mean that they potentially could build and produce a 4" lift for the KJ or is it already availiable? I imagine 35s are alot for the Libby to handle!! You'd only keep that one to wheel in!

talked to a Superlift rep at the off-road expo today. the 4" liberty lift will be out in Jan. or Feb.! $1,200 - 1,400 depending on shocks. the Liberator was in the booth next to them 285/75/r16's. sorry no photos.

They probably down sized the tires because the 35"s would fit, but you couldn't drive it. The 33"s would be the best fit for "use".

Liberator had a D44 housing in place. I am sure they are going to spec a 33" tire due to the D30a. I still wouldn't trust the D30a to 33's but I am betting/hoping the lift will at least work well as they have been working on and testing this for Years. Hopefully there will be some serious testers to try it out. Hmmm...Anyone gonna have one in time for Moab 07?

I will have one before Moab '07 . . . if I win the lottery between then and now. I guess that means that I really need to start playing the lottery.

This makes me wonder if it'd be worth saving the money and going for the 4" lift!! I'm guessing you'd have to run Al's Arms w/ this kit or would something be included?? Again...285s on a liberty is freakin' crazy!!! :o

Okay, a 4" lift would be awesome but, what would be other issues that can come up with having it and 33's on your KJ?

I am sure that the a-arm and CV issues will be addressed and included with the lift.

1. Will the front and rear diffs handle the larger tires?
2. Will the transfer case need to be swapped out?
3. Any issues with the steering system with the larger tires?
4. Tranny?
5. Brakes?
6. Backspacing needs with 33's? Will the Rubi/Moab wheels handle 33's?
7. Will we need more peanut butter?
8. Will my/your ego rise too high?
9. How much lose of power will there be?
10. Who will still be able to fit their KJ in their garage?
11. Will I/you have to shoo away the excessive number of hot babes that come calling?

Just some things to think about and discuss.

1. Will the front and rear diffs handle the larger tires? Definitely would need an upgrade to at least 4.10 gears I would think.
2. Will the transfer case need to be swapped out?Possibly???
3. Any issues with the steering system with the larger tires?Certainly would be a lot of pressure on the rack-n-pinion system being used...but not totally sure
4. Tranny? Is regearing the tranny an option, or is there a possible computer flash for the timing of shift changes available for the autos??
5. Brakes? Bigger es better I would think
6. Backspacing needs with 33's? 4.5" I think would be fine, maybe a 4" Will the Rubi/Moab wheels handle 33's? I would think so
7. Will we need more peanut butter? YES, of course
8. Will my/your ego rise too high? YES, of course
9. How much lose of power will there be? Torque will be lost for sure...
10. Who will still be able to fit their KJ in their garage? Don't park in it anyway.
11. Will I/you have to shoo away the excessive number of hot babes that come calling? YES OF COURSE...  :(

1. Will the front and rear diffs handle the larger tires? Rear, Fine. Front, Who knows? 4.10's or lower needed.
2. Will the transfer case need to be swapped out? No, will work fine.
3. Any issues with the steering system with the larger tires? Only time would tell for sure.
4. Tranny? Should be fine, install a larger cooler.
5. Brakes? 03 and newer fine w/ good pads, rotors, earlier might need upgrade eventually.
6. Backspacing needs with 33's? Will the Rubi/Moab wheels handle 33's? Yes, Fine.
7. Will we need more peanut butter? ALWAYS!
8. Will my/your ego rise too high? Mine No, Yours Maybe.
9. How much lose of power will there be? Not enough to worry about and gears will overcome.
10. Who will still be able to fit their KJ in their garage? Maybe.
11. Will I/you have to shoo away the excessive number of hot babes that come calling? Shoo? Hmm..... As long as my hot wife likes it I'm good.

I got a close look at the Liberators front suspension, it is not stock and they customized more than just bumper. It looks like they cut out and moved the A-arms forward, and by reading the other posts they replaced the diff and propeller shaft too. The lift is not that high but they are using 35" tires. There was plenty of room front and back for the tires to turn but not so much up top.

I don't think I would run anything taller then 32's with a 4 inch and 4.10 gears. From what we hear on the board 32's rub real bad now when flexed out with a 2.5 to 3 so an added inch or so would solve that issue. That is how I would run personally run the lib if I could get a 4 inch lift.

would 33's make that difference over a 32?

I saw it too. Drop brackets and level half shafts. I don't think you gain any extra ground clearance though. The approach and departure angle on the Liberator is something to write home about though. I think I would put my name on the list for an upgrade.

You ride mx or woods?? I race quads too...run the nationals at the WPSA and GNC series. I'm on a TC racing TRX450R w/ Elka and ATV Four-Play frame components.
