I knew there was some custom fab stuff out there but I wasn't counting them. I didn't know about the Rock Ready bumpers though. However, I'd still prefer the ARB since it is hidden from view for the same reasons that 'kj in a tight spot' stated.

The ARB has the winch hidden from view inside the bumper and the Rock Ready had the winch on the outside of the bumper. It is a personal preference. I like the idea of having the winch protected from other people, the weather, and so on but its up to you.

Something else to consider: Having it on the outside would also degrade the angle of approach.

Yea having it on the outside does, but so does the weight of the bumper and winch, almost 200 lbs! You will need HD springs, I will too. My winch will have a winch rope rather than the steel cable. That will knock off like 40-50 lbs.

I've tried to find the Rock Ready bumper online but I'm not having any luck. Does anyone have a link to it?

Its Trail Ready I believe not Rock Ready. I wrote it wrong for some reason. Trail Ready, sorry for the confusion. Hope this helps.

Trail Ready doesn't make them anymore, friends. Not enough demand, and the cost was astronomical... buddy of mine over there said it wasn't in their wheelhouse anyway.

The bar is easy to install on your own if you're even a little handy with a wrench. Don't worry about cutting the fenders, it's easy to do and give you better tire clearance in the process. If you're having a hard time, give me a call here at the office and I'll walk you through it.

Hey Seth I love your product! The bull bar is awesome and is virtually indestructable, so far. I have hit a couple of things, rocks and tree to name a few, just to try out the strength and it was flawless! Keep it up out there at ARB!

Thanks man, we try. Just don't hit em too hard...sometimes they bite. Rocks are mean like that.... bondo is our friend.

If anyone wants to come see me down at Off Road Expo, I'll be there all next weekend (Oct 7th-9th). It's in Pomona,CA... stop in and I'll hook you up some some free swag. Especially to the guy who uses "Oh Brother Where Ar't Thou" references... that movie is hilarious!

We're going to be right next to DynaTrac in the pavilion. Stop in and say hey!

Hat's, stickers...whatever isn't bolted down in the booth except the $100K FJ 40 we're gonna have sitting in it. C'mon by!

We're selling at this show, too, so if you need some stuff Crazy Seth doesn't want to bring ANYTHING home.... lockers, compressors, Recovery Gear... maybe a bumper. Deals to be made!

Aloha!

What is the actual weight of the ARB? Anyone now what the final added weight is, meaning the weight of the bumper minus the weight of the removed stock components?

I think it is close to 120lbs--just a guess though. I thought the BullBar weighed in at 140lbs and the plastic that is removed weighed around 20lbs.

85 pounds on my UPS scale. We tell everyone for shipping purposes that a Bull Bar weighs about 150 pounds, regardless of make, so there is some bad info out there. I can pick one up with one hand and lug it around my garage...

Anyway, there you go.

That sounds good to m for the ARB weight, but I can almost 100% guarantee that the stock bumper does NOT weigh 20 lbs. It was really light when I took mine off, very flimsy. Glad its gone.

Did you see what ARBSeth looks like? No wonder he can tote it around with one hand. See his picture below.
