Hi!! pict of my rig and a question about rusty coil lift

Hi everyone, I'm Eric from Quebec, Canada and new here, just purchase a used 2004 liberty renegade 1 month ago, man I love that thing, this is the most polyvalent truck I've seen, contrary to a lot of people, I'm passing from a 2004 Rubicon to a liberty and I think It is more all day to day adapted. Yes stock it cannot go too far but I war impressed by the stock performance of the kj w/ stock el chepo tires, one thing make me crazy is that front susp. skid who rip and bang all the time, not a lot of ground clearance there, so a rusty coil lift is on the way with 245-75-16 tires, hope this will solve my hitting problems..by the way I have a question about the clevis lift that I'm gona do in the same time with these 2'' conduit lock nuts, I've seen people putting 3 each side without saying that knuckle(upper section) is contacting the coil and others who only put one has problems, so can you please tell me if with a rustys coil lift I will have contact witch 3 spacers each sides??

thanks a lot to you guys, I'm not typing a lot but reading and learning a lot on kj's every days. this is by far the best forum for KJ that I've seen.

Looks like someone sprayed your front end with mud.

The KJ rocks more than you think. The Rusty's coil ift is great. It, along with the bigger tires, will help reduce the banging of the front skid. That skid can take a lot though.

Science_Guy did a Rustys Coil lift not too long ago and I believe he added 2 Conduit nuts for the Clevis lift. I dunno if you can fit three...I'm sure he can tell you more. Do a search...it wasn't long ago he made a very informative thread in this forum w/ pics of the clevis lift and the Rustys coil lift. But I know you can do 2 safely. Good luck and happy jeepin'.

I added three to both sides without and contact of the UBJ. I have about 1/8th inch of room so it is close.

I have been very happy with the Rusty Lift. I am waiting to write a full report after I take it offroading this weekend.

alright speaking of the rusty's coil lift. looking at rusty's site they list the 2.5" coil kit, and if u look under the parts section they list 2" coils. does anyone know if that's a typeo or does the lift include something else?????

i put four conduit washers on each side. you could probably get 5 or 6 without any ubj contact AS LONG as you use rustys coil lift and not the franky. the spacer that the franky uses already bring the arms too close to the ubj.

Just did the Rusty's coil lift this Sunday with two of the locknuts on each side, along with an extra upper rear spring isolator, and don't have any issues.

Once I get pics of the rig, I'll start a thread on the whole experience.

I made some Upper ball joints bumpstops and only used 2 nuts. I didnt like bringing the clevis that far out..
I netted around 1/2 of lift with just two.. :wink:

Jeepjeepster, why did you increase the upper bump stop? If you have no upper plate isn't it irrelavent. With a clevis, isn't it just the axel that increases in travel on the way down?....oh oh..I think I'm begining to understand. With the clevis lift both control arms come down so the distance in the upward direction will also increase?

You read that wrong. I made some upper BALL JOINT bumpstops. I didnt extend the compression bumpstop.. Two different things.. :wink:

I couldnt add any bumpstops without getting UBJC..
