I was just on jeep.com and was poking around the liberty options for 07 and found that the sport 4x4 will run 3.55 gears. I wonder why?

They have tons of type-O's on there. Id say thats what it is, unless you were looking at a manual?

Could be, also when I checked the limited model it showed 3.73 as the gear ratio. That doesn't make any sense. Probably a typo.

It probably has a six-speed manual transmission.

Manual Transmissions have a 3.55 gear ratio, Automatic 3.7L have a 3.73 standard and the Diesel CRD have a 4.10 gear ratio standard.

Mine is a 2005 Sport with the 6-speed manual and has a 3.55 gear ratio.

My 2005 CRD has 3.73 gears in it, the 4 cylinder gasser is the only rig I know of that came with the 4.10 gears. At least here in the US.

The CRD's shipped with 3.55 gears, at least that's what the manual says.
