Ok Guys...

We're doing great with our current model bar, we're selling double what we did at this time last year but the old man asked me to give him a few ideas on what we can do to drive sales on the KJ bars while we where at SEMA last week. Soooo....

In 2 lines or less, what would you like to see changed about our bars? Keep in mind, it only weighs 85 pounds now with the brackets, not the 150 most people think. Try not to be too redundant as I'll have to sort all this out and make a suggestion or three to Australia in a couple days.

Thanks!

Do you mean the bumper? If so, a smaller profile so it doesn't stick out as much. The winch would have to be mounted up top, stick out a little, and not recessed but it is a give and take. Better approach angle.

Shorter. I think it sticks out to far. It looks good to me from the front but not from the profile.

Change the skid plate that runs from the bumper to the frame to cover all the way down to the engine skid plate. Also, I'm not impressed with the marker/turn signal lights on the 05-06 bumpers. They don't seal well and allow water and debris inside. There's gotta be some better combo lights our there. One last thing, why not have a factory style adaptor that plugs into the stock light wiring harness and connects to the new lights?

Hope this helps

x2

I really like the ARB, but it just sticks out way too far.

Edit to add: Turn signals that wrap around alittle like they did on the pre-2005 models.

I am thinking something like an ARB "lite" not that it has to be lighter, but maybe a non winch bar with a better approach angle and a real BULL BAR that actually protects the corners of the front end. Thats where the deer like to land on my vehicles.

x3 for making it shorter. It cuts down on the approach angle terribly. I love the looks of it, but for serious wheelers function beats form.

Are you all looking at making a second ARB for the KJ? Or is this a redesign concept?

Peronally, I like the idea of making two, if it's feasible.

Make the current one just like it is, huge, powerful, wincherific bumper that could be on a firetruck.

Then make another one that's more for the crawlers; closer in to the body (from a profile view), extended to the sides (maybe even a little wrap), skid plate that comes all the way down to the engine skid, recovery points and highlift points. Simple and functional.

I love my ARB and I even like it sticking out there a bit, esp when I pull up behind some little lowered Japanese vehicle, but if I had to buy another one , it would be one closer to the body, same basic look but just without the winch mount and closer like all have said before!

I think you get the idea. Would be cool if it was closer to the body, cheaper, and offered a model that didnt take a winch(IE, ligher)..

I would like to see it have a larger turn signals that wrap around alittle like they did on the pre-2005 models.

I drive in pretty heavy traffic every day, I like people beside me being able to see my turn signals, and with this new model you lose all chance of that unless you have one of the European models that have the turn signals up on the fender by the door. Also, I really don't like the look of those little lights, they don't seem fit the vehical.

Funny you should post this today, I just sent email to sales@arbusa.com on Tuesday morning asking about this issue and didn't get a response. I was happy to see this thread. Thanks.

x4 I love the clean professional factory look. Just wish it was tucked a little closer to the body. Of course lighter would be nice, but that may not be possible.

I think it'd be cool to add those recessed lights and blinkers like the FJ bumper:

I would buy on in a second if the upper bar went forward like a stinger ( like the trailready) instead of leaning backwards

shackle tbs in the bumber instead of down below/

I also agree that the light recesses on the FJ bar look killer. That would be an awesome addition.

and I also would like it to not stick so far out from the body.

I like the bull bar the way it is (I have one on my 03) but I have never used the antenna mounting tabs. I've seen pics of guys mounting lights on them, and one or two guys with antennas there. I also agree about putting the shackle tabs up front instead of beneath. Easier access, less chance of scraping them, looks cooler. I think dog_party said it best: make a second model for the severe terrain drivers.

Kinda what some of the others have said....no winch mount and set it back closer to the body for better approach. Add a reciever for a multi-mount winch.

Ahh, forgot about that. The hitch would be really nice.. :) Would be cool if a license plate could be put over it till it was needed too. 8)
