Your left rear and right front should engage in 4wd lo and hi. The lo option just changes the gear ratio in the transfer case. ( I belive I got all that right) |

The transfercase requires some distance (at least a few feet) to engage. Always switch to 4wd before you get stuck, not after you're already stuck. |

Bingo! Beat me to it. You HAVE to give it a few feet to engage. Luis |

With open diffs...if you lift one tire the other will just spin. Does not really matter which tire is up in the air. Even if you have a factory Trackloc in the rear...if the rear is spinning and one front wheel is just off the ground...the the front tire will spin and not help to pull you at all. You might try some brake the same time you are using a little gas as well. This will help a lot of times. Later...Clint |

Ehh?? AFAIK All 4 wheels spin equally when in 4WD untill any one tire loses traction, then that one (on an open diff) spins freely and the other one on that axle doesn't move at all. |

Hoss not to say that is wrong but I have seen when I was stuck on ice these were the only wheels spining. I will admitt to not knowing a lot so I could be wrong. Gonna do a little research. |

Yeah, when tires start to slip only two will spin (one front, one rear)but it will be the two with the LEAST amount of traction, regardless of what side of the vehicle it is on. However when all 4 wheels have equal traction all 4 wheels will recieve the same amount of torque. |
