I thought I hear that there was a tranny skid available for the KJ? I saw one at All-J, but is that a True tranny skid, for just for the transfer case? Stephen |

All-J's tranny skid is probably one of the best out there. Skid Row also sells a good tranny skid and there are a few other dealers. Ask around for opinions about what would work best for your application. |

Stephen Your question is some what strange to me so this is my answer To go offroad the KJ needs 4 different skid plates 1 for the front end/front diff OE works fine but tends to act like a shovle 1 for the trans it goes from the front cross member at the rear of the front skid to the transmission cross member dont waste your money on the OE one it will fail at the first hint of a hit even on a rotten log go after market ,all j's is the favorite but I made my own just fine 1 for the trans fer case it mounts to the trans cross member and to the driver side unibody again the OE skid is fine 1 for the fuel tank mounts to the unibody over the fuel tank the OE one is fine here also and thi one is a must cause the tankk is plastic and if you hit a good stick or a root or a rock it will break so that 4 seperate skids to cover 4 different components |

What's the price on the All-J tranny skid? I checked the site, but all I could find for the KJ is the SuperSkids. ![]() |

Hey, how's it going. I just replaced my OE transmission skid for my KJ 05, and it cost 39, and another 9 for the bolts. I picked it up at a jeep dealer in NY. I believe they got it from the newmoparaccessories.com site. Granted there are plently of aftermarket sites, but it was easy this way. |

![]() The price is right there above the Super Skid picture on their site. $265.95 and well worth every penny for the peace of mind you get, if you do any serrious wheeling. Mines been beat on hard for 2 yrs. and still going strong. Skid Row's 3/16" tranny skid is $269.00 VS. All J's 1/4" for $265.95. Then there's the $39.00 Mopar (Condom) tranny skid, hit it once and throw it away! Rusty's also has one, but would stay away due to it's poor design. |

I thought they made a tranny-specific plate other than the super skid. Thanks for the info on the other skids too! ![]() |

Haha, the mopar holds its own. Just be sure NOT to come down hard on it.. It will bend fairly easy. But it will be fine if you just glide over the rocks.. ![]() |

stephen I can tell you no it replaces only the one under the transmission best thing to do is to go crawl around under your jeep so you can see what is there I made my wife do it so that she would know what is a good bang and what is bad |

With those three and the tranny skid you'll be in business. |
