Post subject:  LBJ Recall question

Does the DC recall for LBJ replacement include wheel alignment?

If this was being done as a customer pay item, I am sure the dealer would strongly suggest  both a front end and thrust alignment. Just wondered if the factory was springing for any alignment under the recall. I know this work is open on the 2006 KJ we just bought but all ball joints check good at this point.

Thanks for any replies on this question.

I asked about the alignment when I got my new LBJs put in, and the service guy said it wasn't needed. I have put on a couple of months of daily driving since, and a couple of highway trips, and it hasn't been a problem.

I know the mech. that did the recal wok on ours he's related and he said that it was not needed but recomended one if the joints were bad cause it will be out of spec
he said that he has found that about 75% are still good

Any dealership can perform the recall service. If you have a few dealerships near you, see if they will put you on a waiting list for the parts.

I have a dealership a half mile from my house and the dealership where I purchased the KJ is about 20 minutes away.
The local shop just kept telling me "two weeks" every time I called. The other created a waiting list as customers called and they would notify them as the parts became available. Finally had my service done yesterday at the dealership where I bought the KJ. Work was completed in an hour.
