The Mopar front engine skid uses four bolts, the transfer case skid is the one that uses nutzerts and 4 bolts.

I must have some thing strange going on with mine then cause I needed nut zerts for sure in the back side of the engine skid
I know this cause I just drilled them out a few months ago when I installed my trans skid

Sounds like you're confusing the skids. I too, had to drill out the nutzerts on the front of the transfercase skid when I installed my tranny skid.

My memory doesn't work very good at my age either. :o

I built my trany skid
I know what I had to drill
The one I am calling the engine skid is the one that goes under the front diff and bolts to the unibody and the front cross member
I had to put 2 nut zerts in the cross member the one on the driver side was a PITA cause it is not strait but on a slight angle the other is on a flat surface
wich is the one I had to drill out
I did not have to drill out any on the transfer case skid because my trany skid is as wide as the cross member that is there in the middle so I used the 2 slots on either side of the cross member and drilled through that

Mine had nuts welded to the cross members. Mine bolted to the engine crossmember and the crossmember that holds the rack and pinion(i think).. :)

Depends on the vehicle/year ect. My 2002 had the inserts...the CRD has bolts...
