They look terrific, but only have two mounting points (like most rocker guards), so they're not likely to be as strong as BoulderBars (which have 3 mounting points). As hard as I've landed on my BoulderBars at Moab and Big Bear, I wouldn't go with anything less, but your needs may be different.

Thanks Troysterr that's it. Well to be honest I'm not as much as an extreme off roader like some of you guys. I can see why the boulder bars are a little stronger but for my needs they should do just fine. I just like the extra tubular bar sticking out the side of it. Great links to cheaper buying too. You just saved me a few dollars. Joe

the Supernerfs (used to be made by Mark Hinkly at ORGS MFG) and now produced by JKS are great nerfs.

the 2 leg, Vs. 3 Leg doesnt really make a bit of difference, the lateral support is fine. I also like the adjustability of the legs (they are telescopic and when you get the right spot you plug weld them)

they mount to the pinch weld in 5 places at the main square slider tube.
They will require slight modding to your fender flares if I remember right..

I have a set on my ZJ and they are great, they work as a great "pivot" point on tight obstacles.

Jim @ JKS makes a great product.from a Great Design that Mark made.

FWIW, this my 3rd set of them on 3 different vehicles, a Cherokee and 2 different Grand Cherokees, Mark starting making them back in the early 90's,

I bought my first set (before mark had a jig for them) and they cost me over $600!!!!

at around $300 they are a bargain.

The boulder bar products are great also, I do Not think you wil go wrong with either one.

Its just a matter of which style you like, Square Tubing, Or rounded tubing..

I personally just think the round tube looks a little less "home" built, but that is just my .02C whatever that is worth

I'd worry about the sides of those getting caught on a rock and having the whole thing pushed back and ripped off of your pinchweld, like what happened to AdamisAdam.. Adam, are these similar to the bars you had? Or was the part that extrudes out on yours more angular? These look rounded enough that they'd be hard to actually catch on anything.

Although I don't know the construction quality of these Nerf's, I might have to disagree? For example, Poison Spyder has been building "sliders" mounted to rocker panel plates on CJ's & TJ's for years. It's my understanding their product is second to none for those Jeeps. My .2 cents. But FWIW, I'm planning to purchase All-J's boulderbars on reputation.

I just looked at the damage that AA has to his. The slider bar extends out a quit a bit from the pinch weld and has what looks like two bars from the slider to the frame for support. I could see how this could bend if caught on something. These sliders bolt directly to the pinch weld with three or five bolts and have two support bars going to the frame. Then they welded a tubular bar extending out from that with leg supports to the slider bar. Looks like a more solid connection to the vehicle but anything can get damaged no matter what you do.
I lean towards the tube setup in hopes that once a higher lift is available it also gives a place to step up on and yet serves as a solid rocker protection in one. Besides it beats the factory renegade ones I presently have. Mine are in excellent condition right now and will sell them before I damage them.

I'm sure these bars are very strong, and will provide excellent protection. And they look great. So I'm not really criticizing them, but understand that BoulderBars have 3 crossbars mounted to the unibody, rather than 2, and attach to the pinch weld with 7 bolts, not 3 or 5. That HAS to make a difference when you really pound them hard.

Again, I'm not criticizing these bars or any others. I'm just saying that the likelihood of tweaking your unibody or tearing the bar from the pinch weld is less if you distribute the load more evenly across more attachment points. If you need the absolute strongest protection you can get, the only option I'm aware of right now is BoulderBars. But if you need really good protection and won't be pounding your bars very hard, and you prefer the look or other benefits of another brand of bars, you shouldn't have any problem with SuperNerfs, or RRO bars, or even OEM bars.

(Of course, I never intended to pound mine very hard, but when you hang out with the LOST West guys... :lol:

You gotta watch out for Clint and his "dirt roads". :shock:
