I have 2 questions.

1) What is the output of the lightbar that comes with some Renegades. You can get this from a dealer. I can't find the answer anywhere although a lot of folks want to sell it.

2) I have come across a roof basket carrier that includes lights. The description says it is OEM but I can't find a Liberty or Renegade with one. The last one I came across was at http://www.carmosaic.com/jeep-liberty/p ... cts_id+206

I hope that link works, at any rate it shows a basket with lights attached. Does anyone know anything about this?

Thanks

Maybe that will work. I promise it is there.

Anyway, the description says 55 volts for 90,000 watt light output for the roof basket lights. I presume that is per light. I would want the most to start with and then I would worry about fit and hooking that basket on low limbs.

I think the renegade light bar is like 55w per light. could be wrong though. dont know about the second one, too much money for me.

the second one is the mopar basket and the lighting you have to purchase seperately unless you go through a 3rd party retailer that sells them together. i dont think they sell a whole heck of alot of them because they are infact pricey and they dont attach to the existing rails like other baskets can, you have to either buy or fab up some cross members

Troy can be more specific but i think you are right. each light is a low beam head light and thus 55 watts each. x4 is somewhere around 220 watts total output for the rene light bar.

Thanks. I figured so much but I could not find a thing anywhere.

I priced out the install fo rthe Rengade light bar and it came to nearly $600 including labor. The Mopar dealer said plenty of people try it themselves but always end up bringing it in to complete the installation.

MANY people here have installed their own. Not a big deal from what I read, just need the right tools, drillbits and some patience. And some good silicone sealer too. PM Troy (tjkj2002) and he can point ya in the right direction.

600.00+ for a 300.00 light bar is reason enough for me to do it myself if i was to get one.

As it is I am doing something similar with RL's Gecko Roof Basket. When ever it arrives.
