I was in an accident a while back and had ordered a RL bumper. Marty called to say that they were done and I had it shipped directly to the shop so that they could paint it and put in on. I finally got the Jeep back yesterday and I have to say that I completely stoked at how this looks. I tried to show it from all angles so that everyone can get an idea of how it would look. I still need to do some trimming of the flares and I may put a tip on the exhaust. But other than that its done. Thanks Marty for all the hard work! I dont know how to get bigger pics as these are from Flickr and they are resized for their website. If you go to the website you can get them a little bigger. If anyone knows how to post these bigger please let me know. Thanks! http://www.flickr.com/photos/13657537@N00/?saved=1 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

AZScout you had to go and show us pics didnt you, and then to make matters worse yours has to be a Black Sport, so now that I know how sweet mine would look even wishing more that Santa would dig deep and bring me one. It does look awesome, fit and finish looks really good. Wife just called to see if I had my wish list done, need to call her back right NOW and add bumper. I think I am worth Moabs/tires/ skids and a bumper this year! |

Actually, it's part of a plate that goes all they way to the front of the bumper and the "skin" is just welded on top of it. Its part of the structural integrity of the bumper. The liscense plate does need a new home and in AZ it needs to be lighted. I think Marty might have something in the works. There will be more room to work with once the wheel and gas tank carrier gets done. Tommudd...I hope Santa is good to you this year! |

![]() There is no way I would even think about making some weak recovery point by welding just to the face of 3/16" plate steel. Those idiots are often found on ebay. The shackle tabs are welded to the front, the back and directly to the 1/4" frame mounts. There is over 12" of weld holding each tab to the bumper and tied directly to the frame mounts. This is an old picture, but it shows the how the tab is welded on the backside to the mount and bumper: ![]() |

Great work and nice design, but i've got to ask, what are you doing about finishing off those corners ? Are you 'boxing' them in ? Maybe a good idea to add in a couple of LED tail lights down low too. just a thought ![]() |

Isnt there supposed to be a cover or something for the tops of the bumper on each side? Or does that big hole stay there? not to sure about those fenders hanging down either? ![]() |

I just wanted to use the forum to show that these bumpers DO exist and are starting to come out now, and to show some additional pics. So all of us on the pre-sale list should have ours coming shortly. I know Marty is working like a madman to get these out and kudos to him for his one man operation. And thanks to USAFCOP for helping him as well. There is no one else doing this for our KJ's and we should give props to those willing to make a risk judgement and make things for the KJ's. These bumpers are awesome and all those that want one should have theirs shortly. The front is still looking for a bumper. I was going to go with a Trailready but they have been dragging their feet on a 05-06 design. The pre-runner looks good and am still waiting for that one to show itself. If nothing shows up by then I will go with Rock Lizards front design. The open space on the bumpers is where the swing out tire carrier and gas tank will go. They can be "blocked" out if one wishes and this will look good also. The flares will be cut to match the bottom of the bumper. I'm still debating about the "mud flaps". It depends on what it looks like after I cut the flares but the "mud flaps" are a possibility. USAFCOP has that setup and I think it looks decent. Thanks for the compliments and they are all directed to Marty... Dave |

You can bet that if Wally (Allyrand) says he tested Rock Lizard's bumper, he surely tested it hard....and it still looks great. Wally, what size is that spare, 35"? AZScout, did you just prime and paint or did you go with powdercoating? Man,Having a black KJ has a huge advantage in color matching for powdercoating. To do it for non-regular colors costs 3-4 x more. |

That bumper is awesome. I was planning on buying a front bumper (probably ARB although a local fabricator said he would build a custom) but now I am having a hard time making up my mind. Wish RL would do something about the license plate. Dont really like it on the spare. Overall though a very nice bumper. |

I keep looking at that bumper trying to figure out where the plate would look good, is there enough room down below the bumper like on the tank skid or somewhere? Just thinking out loud here. |
