I installed the Rough Country lift kit and have had the alignment set twice since. The techs can't get the caster or camber set correctly.It appears that the adjustment is maxed for both. Is this a normal problem after a lift kit? Should I take it somewhere else. I have the Firestone lifetime alignment so I could take it to a different location. The adjusters appear to be bolts with an eccentric on one end. Are there replacement bolts that have more adjustment? Thanks for your help. |

You may have to live with it or get very creative. With my 2.5" lift and clevas lift (total just less than 3") my adjustment is maxed out but within specs. Any more lift and something different would have to be done. |

Supposedly my camber on the right side is maxed at -0.9, The caster is maxed on both at approx. 2.97 (can't remember if that is positive or negative). Should I expect any accelerated tire wear? |

My understanding is the camber (or is it the caster) is CHANGED once lifted. In other words, it's not supposed to go back to stock because you're charnging angles. When installing a lift, all that gets touched is toe, so that's all I had aligned. I have the measurements for the caster and camber as well (posted on the EXboard) and they're out, but not by much. Wear after 12k seems ok. |

Hey i have the same lift kit from Rough Countgry the 3 inch one. I am right now sitting at the dealership waiting the result of the previous alignement. Once i have the lift installed i had midas do a 4 wheel alignment. Now once the 60K service is done and they re-did the alginment, its pulling to the left. So now they are back at it again. I will keep you posted. Seems like there is only one other person on this board not having problems with the Rough Country lift. I love the height and i dont want to give it up. keep me post and i will do the same. Vinni |

Did you have to get the spacer blocks in the rear. The springs alone only gave me about 1" of lift even though they are much longer than the originals. I called RC and they sent some 2" poly spacers which gave me 3" in the rear as well as the front. I had it aligned before I put the spacers in and then again after. Before I put in the spacers, the camber was the only thing that was maxed out. After, the caster was as well. I've been trying to find some cam bolts that would give more adjustment. |

I didn get anything else other than the kit. However the dealership said that they aligned it today and its a bit better however it still pulls to the left, so perhaps another trip back. If this doesnt work i am going to ask them to remove it and go with the OEM stuff untill i get the sky jacker which seems like the one to go with. this RC kit has given me nothing more than headaches. i just installed a daystar 2.5in kit (kj09115) in my 05 crd last weekend. i had the alignment done yesterday at jeep dealer here in denver for 49 bucks. they said everything looked great with the lift and alignment. no issues at all. they said i had a hair of adjustment left too. 
after they saw my front skid plate they said the lift was a good idea for me ...... lol |

I've had the rough country lift for a while now. I got 3.5 inches in front and 1 inch in back. I didn't think that was a problem because I figured the front wheels needed more room for turning. I was wrong. I tow a small pop-up camper. The camper made the jeep sag in back. When 4 wheeling the rear would bottom out. Once the rear wheel caught on the metal edge of the wheel well,, the part thats under the plastic on the back door, down toward the bottom. I had to beat it with a hammer back around while out on the trail. Lucky it didn't cut my tire. I also noticed that the jeep began to bottom out while towing the trailer. I think the springs take a set after being loaded so much for so long. When I called rough country they said they would send me the 2.5 inch rear spacers for free. Rusty's lift comes with these spacers when you order the lift,, I checked a rusty's lifted libby and it had the spacer. In addition to the spacer, I also added the firestone air bag(helper spring) that rough country sells. The system is working very well right now. I had to tweek the air bag install a little, but it all fit up nicely with only minimal drilling. The trailer no longer causes the jeep to sag, nor does it bottom out,, and the lift gets bigger the more air you put in
The dealer installed the lift for me, and did the alignment. There was no mention of any problems and I didn't notice any problems with alignment. I pulled off the rough country rear springs in order to install the air bags and spacers. I did not have it aligned and it seems fine. |

I have also noticed a little vibration when starting from a dead stop. Could this be a U-joint angle problem. I measure 36" from the ground to the bottomof the fender flare above the center of the wheel. Is this about normal? I am considering ordering some of JeepinAls custom upper control arms. I wonder if that would help the camber problem. |

Well here is my story.... i had the RC lift put on 2 months ago, had it aligned, drove it no problem. Before going to Beirut, i put the jeep at the dealer for 60K service, they did an alignment, and it was good. 2 days laters the car starts pulling to the left, so i take it back in and they realingned it, and now its pulling to the left again. Also speleorelic you mentioned that the front moves up and down like a boat, well mine went crazy today and its was like jumping all over the place, even going over small bumps at lower speed than highway. So its back at the dealer ship and RC says it may be the strut or the shock gone bad, so far this is been a big headache for me... i am not liking it. OH and RC said that if any part of the suspension is not correct to specs it will keep coming out of alignment. Vinni I will keep all posted |
