I was wondering if anyone thinks that the mopar roof rack is a suitable roof rack? pics of bird's eye view, how it is hlp onto the renegade bars, wind noise, gas mileage affects... anything that you can think beneficial!!! thanks in advance |

The Renegade roof rack is mainly for looks. It is all plastic and tends to squeak when you have a load in it. It is also limited in the amount of weight that can be put into it. If you want it for looks, then the Mopar Renegade basket is ok. For praticality, get a Surco or Yakima.... |

ok i have an 05 renegade, what should i buy to get a roof rack, surco etc... i have heard of roof rails that you have to attach to the roof rack... does anyone have the stock number for 2005 renegade roof rack parts..? thanks |

I went with the 45x60 inch Surco Safari rack and then just bought U-bolts from the hardware to mount it. I had to drill holes in the cross rails of the rack for the u-bolts to go through. Now since your's is an '05, I believe the stock roof rails have a larger diameter. You may need to buy the rack first and then check out your mounting options. I bought mine from Summit Racing. They had real good prices and cheap/fast shipping. |
