Rusty's budget lift is essentially the same thing as the RRO OTT lift. I'd stay away from both. However, Rustys spring kit and RRO combo are both good kits.

Most people that have had the RRO Budget lift (the former name RRO OTT before they changed it) have taken it off due to eating struts and upper balljoint contact. Do yourself a favor and stay away from it.

If you're not going offroad, then it's fine. But as soon as you start hitting trails where your front wheels fully compress, that's where the shocks will bottom out. That's also where things start causing problems.

To me it,s not really that bad,but then again I've been an auto tech. for most of my life and have the ability to make this kit work where others either don't know how or are not willing to spend the time versus money. You will need to do some figuring on travel limits so as not to bottom out struts, have upper balljoint contact,or any other problems. IMO no lift is without some risk, after all if DC thought they could lift the libby without any problems,I'm sure their smart enough to realize it would sell that much better. Again in my honest opinion if you lift your libby the risk of doing so is up to how high your willing to go.

What kind of stuff have you done to avoid the common problems? If that lift can work fine with a little DIY effort or something It'd be great to know.

Fixing the overcompressing problem was solved with longer struts. I was ready for new ones anyway. On the balljoint contact issue I went inside of the frame pocket wich houses the upper a arm and added a 3/8 inch block of nylon below the arm to lesson the travel. The CV angels are going to be sharper no matter how you lift it,so that is something none of us can change. Mine really are'nt that sharp.Yes i've L.O.S.T. a little articulation but saved alot of money and I'll just need to learn to drive better lines. As Jason Thompson always says 99 percent of wheelin is the driver. I believe this.
