Hi All,

I tried this over in the wheels/tires forum with no answers. I thought I'd try it here.

I'm new to the Liberty world, but have been doing the Jeep thing for a while. One thing I have not found in my reading and searching is what folks with KJs are doing, speedometer wise, to compensate for larger tires.

I know with 2002 and prior TJs, you simply change the speedo gear to get the speedometer back to true. 2003s and later are electronic and I know Skyjacker makes an electronic adjuster for them, but I have not seen an application for the Liberty.

I realize that most tire changes that will fit a KJ will only make like a 2% change, but I'd still like to know if there's a way to correct the readings, if there's anything available.

Thanks,
Jeff

The dealership, or anyone with the correct computer equipment, can make the adjustment. There is a table of preset tire sizes in the KJ computer system. You can't add any new tires but you can adjust the existing entries. Just tweek the number of revolutions per mile for one of the presets and then select that preset as your current tire size.
