As long as it came with lock washers. You will be fine. No thread locker needed.

With Lock-tite I use the blue stuff. This locks the bolt but you still be able to remove the bolt when needed. The red stuff will not allow you to remove the bolt.

Is this going to clear a gas tank skid? Looks like it protrudes out there a ways. :?:

Who makes that one? I just got one from on here (moose_1978) and it looks similar, its made by Custom 4X4 Fabrications, plus my Kilby gas tank skid just arrived today so I HOPE they will not hit each other! A BFH may have to come into play!!

I saw moose_1978's when I picked up skid plates from him last week. It was more like a full catcher's mask and seemed like it would be tighter to the diff than this one lilred has

hey guys, im considering buying TJKJ's diff gaurd, i plan to do the installation myself. When i take out the bolts to install it should i expect it to leak diff. fluid all over? if it does how should i go about refilling it? What do you torque the bolts to?

If you have a paper gasket, then the cover will fall off as soon as you remove the bolts. If you have an RTV gasket, then the cover will remain attached and sealed. Since the Libby comes from the factory with RTV, you should be fine if the cover has never been removed before. The diff needs to contain 2.08L of gear lube and, if you have a limited slip, 118mL of LSD additive. To refill, just remove the rubber fill plug, pour in some lube and additive, and replace the plug. The factory diff cover bolts use a 1/2" socket and should be torqued to 30 ft/lbs. If you need any other rear diff bolt/measurement/fluid specs, check out this page: http://www.fuzzymuzzle.com/Car/Gear_Install/Chrysler_8.25.htm It should be a really easy install. Good luck.

That's not your KJ is it? I only asked because that is a Dana 35 axle under there.
