That guy on E-bay has the best prices online I've ever seen for any length and thickness of synthetic rope. I was thinking of getting one to use with a Hi-lift instead of the typical strap.

Not as cheap as FreeJeep's guy, but Jed at armorology hooked me up. Real good guy, with good stuff, here is a link to his products page. http://www.armorology.com/what's_new.htm He has nice aluminum fairleads too with laser etching on them, looks sweet!

From the auction (as well as other sources) "5/16 AmSteel is Rated for an Average Strenght of 13,700lbs. A minimum Strenght of 12,300lbs " I believe the stock steel cable is rated around 10k.

Couldn't find a rating for the Warn one you show, not even on the Warn website. Only found "Designed for use on winches with rated capabilities of 9500 lbs. or less." Kinda scary for the $600+ pricetag IMHO.

I am going to say Buyer Beware about Custom Splice. He has some misleading auctions that show the wrong picture and have incorrect or contradictory info and he isn't accepting responsibility for the mistakes.
I am currently trying to get him to send me the correct item and he is charging me shipping both directions. I used buy-it-now on an auction for what showed in all pictures a winch rope w/ abrasion guard. (100' x 5/16") It turns out the auction was actually for a winch "extension" rope though the pictures didn't show that. I also questioned him on the auction as the title said 100' and in the text of the auction it said 80'. Needless to say, he never changed either the text or pictures in the auction and put the blame on me for not ordering the right item. At the least he could have acknowledged his mistakes that led to my mistake in ordering and offered to split the shipping. Or he could have at least fixed his auction. :x
Unfortunately, I will probably end up w/ a retalitory negative or neutral feedback as I will at the least be leaving him a neutral. :x

you can always complain to ebay too about false advertising or misleading information...i've done that on a few people over my time dealing with ebay, and yes it takes sometime, but i did get my money back eventually...

Finally got the new winch line on today, and my Jeep is now 24 lbs. leaner from her former weight of 4,860 lbs. Now she's just a mere 4,836 lbs. :o
