Post subject:  OME Lift Anyone?

Well i found a good deal on a OME lift here in canada, My original thought was to use the OME coils and Rancho RSX shocks/struts but the difference in price between the OME and rancho's was only about $175.00 so i figure i might as well go with the OME Complete lift. The only thing i was Curious about was what kind of clevis lift/spacer lift should i do with this kit, since ARB claims its only a 1.5" lift?? And has anyone done this?
Aso while i was searching for prices on the rancho struts a guy at the distributers said that the RSX 17505 strut is only for a stock KJ, I know that this strut is used on the frankenlift but jow can it be usedfor a stock KJ and also a lifted?? Still trying to figure this lift system out 100% before i purchase anything and regret it. I was planning on using 926 OME medium duty coils in the front but i have a winch being installed (m8000) without a aftermarket bumper. Shoul i go with the HD's instead??

Thanks for any and all input! :) Josh

I had the OME full lift and didint like the raked look it had. I bought the Rustys front springs and it sits perfect now. :)

I still have the OME shocks front and rear along with the HD rear OME springs.

So will you be running the winch all the time? If so I would go with the Heavy Dutys if not maybe the mediums. It seems that anyone that has used the mediums do only get about 1.5 inches. With the Heavy dutys I got over that. OME is a very good lift it is well thought out and does a better job from all my reading than most other kits, I also think it will last longer than others. If the difference is 175, I would go with the OME heavy duty springs in the fron rear depends on if you haul alot of weight or pull a trailer. Put a small clevis on and see how it sits for you then. I think you are heading in the right direction with the OMEs they have a longer history than Rustys or some of the others out there, plus thats what the Frankenlift has so.....there you go, my nickels worth

FYI - the Frankenlift is basically an OME with an additional spacer - you could check on a .75 to 1" spacer costs - I think it's cheap - All-J's or Rusty should have them.

Right on guys ...I will get a hold of AllJ's and see what they have for a spacer lift on the front that wil be compatible with the OME lift. Either that or i wll try a clevis using 2" conduit nuts. Yeah i would be running the winch all the time, it would be a permanent install. HD coils might be the way to go then i just hope they are not too rough??

I have the HD OME coils on my KJ and they are perfect for me. I don't think they're too stiff. They are just extra firm I'd say.
