You will get rubbing. I have 245/70 tires and I get rubbing with my 2.5in Rustys(front)/OME lift(rear). My rims have 5"BS which means they stick out .5in more per rim over stock. Im fairly sure that the spacers move them out more than what I have.

I really love to get the KJ dirty. Working over spring break is going to leave me with a halfway decent paycheck. My question is what problems will I have, if any, by adding spidertrax wheel spacers to my 03. I have no lift, and am running 245/70 Generals and the thinking that the wider stance will throw more mud on the sides. Which would get my KJ dirtier- the spacers or a lift (seeing as budget lifts are about equivallently priced)?? |

I respect your desire to throw mud. Skip the spacers. Get the lift. Then save up and get wheels with additional backspacing (steelies are only $60 a pop) and then you are covered... Todd |

I added spacers to my 03 after a 3" lift and 245-75 mtr's. im on stock rims and spacers made it get a lil dirtier but dont expect a night and day difference with the spidertrax on a stock rim. however the difference in appearance was very noticable to me and made it look alot better with out making it look like a mexi-mobile. |

jeepjeepster- how bad is your rubbing? based on what i've read, it shouldnt be too bad, especially compared to a 245/75. is the agreement to go for a lift then? I just want more mud... |

is the agreement to go for a lift then? I just want more mud... The rear will rub kinda bad without extended bumpstops. I have Airbags and I must pump them up to Keep the tires off the flares when offroad. I have some paint missing on the insides of the flares though. 
The front isnt bad at all. It just touches the flares. Most people cut their pinch seams and beat them over. They also heat and push the fog light area out of the way or just cut some out. Ive not cut anything, so thats how people fit 245/75/16 tires if they have rims with less BS.

its not just getting muddy, its getting MORE muddy MORE quickly. in CT, we wheel where we can, and most times the trails dont have the big mud pits i see everyone else diving into. therefore i usually go back and back and back trying to get more and more of what little mud there may be. i just want to be able to hit a trail on a whim, and drive around muddy for a while. |

jeepjeepster- so what you're saying is it rubs when you flex, right? if so it wont bother me. most times around here we've got fairly flat trails, and i'm almost never flexing more than you would going over a speedbump (so rather than flex we can run trails a little faster than most )

Yes, the rear is the worst part or it. The front will rub when pulling into a parking place at the mall though, but its not enough to worry about(in my case).

i ran 245/75 16s on stock rims, no spacers, for over 40k with no rubbing after an 1/8" heat gun massage behind fog lights. no pinch weld mod necessary, had almost an inch of clearance there. |

does anybody have a pic of a kj w/ 245/70 tires with either spacers or 5" backspaced rims WITHOUT a lift? I'd like to see what i'd be getting myself into if I went that route. |
