I've just started investing in my Jeep and my first buy was a set of Rancho shocks from central4wd.com. I just noticed that the part id on my order is 17505/17080 but noticed that people here that have full Rancho setups have 17505/17004. Did I make a mistake on my order?

My Jeep right now is stock 2003 Sport.

Since yours is a stock Liberty the 17080s would be correct - the 17004s are actually spec'd for a Dakota but work well on lifted Libertys.

Will I be ok if I add a 2.5" lift later on? I am not planning on going any higher than that.

If you're going to add a lift later then you would want the 17004s, but I'm not sure how they would behave on a non-lifted KJ; the reason they work well on a lifted KJ is that they have more travel so the rear end can flex more. On a non-lifted Liberty they may wind up bottoming out.

I was going to buy the Rancho RSX 17004 but was told by Rusty’s that those shocks are not recommended. They advised me to go with OME shocks.

The new OME P/N N132L shocks are the good ones for the rear of a lifted KJ. All J products has them at
http://boulderbars.com/OME-N132L_jeep_l ... shocks.htm

I did a write up about them here>> http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/vie ... hp?t=18432

They are on my wifes KJ and even she says she noticed an improvement in the ride.
