Anyone with their rock rails with pics? I've heard the name and they seem to be well constructed. I've been in contact with Andy at their shop, but have yet to see a photo of the KJ version.

A little help?

Yeah. CRC has been asking me to check with forum members. I think I like their set up.

3 mounting points on "frame" like All Js, an additional tube rail like Skink Step Sliders. BUT I don't know if they provide any mounting points along the pinch seam.

I think that's one of the selling points for aftermarket rockers.

I wish I could have made it to Livingston to show you the skinks. Nothing against CRS, I just like the skinks.

Andy is a great guy. Speaking of which, I need to call him.

Let me know if you want any specific pictures.

Correct, the CRS rails don't have any pinch seam/weld provisions.

Is it neccessary to tie into the pinch weld? Is it really even a good idea?

It'll make the rock rails much more effective, more mount points=stronger(my opinion). It also will spread the force of a hard hit over more of a area making less likely to break/bend things.Just my 2 cents.

..............and if that was the only sticking point for making the sale, I'd bet the farm that Andy would add them, although he'd need a KJ to fit them. Less expensive than the others by a large amount also I might add.

I was thinking the same thing. I REALLY dig that extra tube rail/step. Their prices are competitive, but I wouldn't say much cheaper. He quoted me $325... If only I got in on that Carolina group buy this summer...

Looking at getting some once summer comes possibly, I was quoted about $350 for the rails and install....so we'll see what happens...

I have my CRS Rock Rails on for a year and I have tested them several times. Not a problem, just a lttle rust for rubbing the paint off. I also had Andy bolt mine on instead of welding and the rails are as solid as the day they we put on.

Ugg & Mutt,

Do the CRS rails come up against the pinchweld? If so, you wouldn't need to attach there. Upward force on the rail would make a lever point out of the pinchweld and put downward force on the frame attachment. That would make it just as strong (or stronger) with out the holes and potential rust in the pinchweld...

No the rails do not come up against the pinchweld. The rails are welded or bolted directly to the frame.
