Cool! If that rack just happened to fit on the same mounting bracket as the Thule Spare-Me bike rack that I have, I'd be set up!

Have to watch the weight you put in that rack, since it would add to the weight of the tire/rim that's already hanging on the rear gate hinges each time we open the back door...but I already watch the weight on my bike-rack every time I use that...so nothing different there.

Nice find!

I wonder if the bracket that seems to need to pass thru the center of the wheel is small enuff to get thru our stock wheels (centecap off of course). The weight issue with the extra lever force might be a problem...but I like the idea.

I do like the other rack that comes from the hitch reciever that angles up for better clearance. If it clears the rear spare, it would be nice.

I like this idea and I also like the idea of the receiver one that comes up for better clearance.

Does anyone have one of these? does it clear the spare? my only worry with the one from Olympic 4x4 is that i would exceed the weight on the swing gate. Id like to have atleast 250lbs. for when i go hunting in the winter....

i also dont want a roof rack because of aerodynamics, and its hard to lift a buck up on to the roof of my jeep...

I have one on my Liberty. It fits fine no problems but have not really used it since installing (bought it to carry camping gear and it has been too cold for camping). The post fits through the center cap and extends past the tire about 5 inches.

The mount for the Thule SpareMe rack I have fits through the stock wheel with the center-cap popped off. This one probably fits the same. It extends exactly as far as my tire does. I leave the mount on all the time.

I was looking at the hinges on the rear door of the KJ the other day...dreaming of some way to strengthen them. Haven't figured anything out yet, but we put a welder in the 2nd qtr house budget...so who knows. :-) I really like this rack, but I want it to be able to hold fuel/water cans and maybe even a Hi-Lift.

I was going to say.... in that photo the rack isn't even supported by the rear door but by the custom rear tire carrier on the bumper...

I'd worry about the weight if trying to hold cans, etc...
