Post subject:  Skids in Canada

Anyone know where I can buy skids in Canada (online ok). Jparts will not ship here! It feels like I am in North Korea! Can't get what I want. Dealer has marked the skids up over 100%. All 4 skids cost well over $500.

I need another solution.

Hey I looked at jparts.com and I emailed them about 4 months ago and talked to a info rep and they said they would ship to Canada at your expense. They can't ship here free but they will ship to canada. Write them an email and talk to them about shipping here they will do it. Hope that helps because I am prob going to do the same if they want over $500 for skids here that is retarded you can order aftermarket ones that are 10 times better for that kind of money. Well hope that helps.

I bought mine at my dealer and it was 300$ CAN installed. But it was 3 skid plates included (below the engine, the differential and the gaz tank).

Yup, check at the dealership first. Their price is actually competitive.

Get use to paying Alot for the KJ parts from the US to Canada, Seems like no one in canada carrys much for the KJ. It sure would be nice if AllJ's and RL would be able to hook up with a shop somewhere in canada! :)

Wouldn't a trip to the states work?? If you know someone close by, order them from Jparts or drive to a dealer (after you've called about price) and get some. Try eBay too. Vancouver is pretty close to the border??

Not sure how close to the border you are... I live in Canada (30 mins for the US border) and there is a UPS/post office on the US side of the border that takes packages and charges only $2 each.

Tommorow I drive down and pick up my Lift kit, hidden hitch, roof racks and basket, and a few more things and all it's costing me is 30 mins worth of gas.

Check around near your border... all my Ebay and everything I ship that way.

Takes me at least 15 hours of hard driving just to get to the border...so I pay the duty and tax and shipping and whatever other charges they feel like adding along the way: the cost of our obsession... In fact, I think the government feels that charging duty is a service, and tax you for it.

If you order your parts online or by phone you can get them shipped to a place in Blaine, Wa called Hagens of Blaine. You just have the shipper put their address with your name & phone number on the front of the package and they call you when it arrives. I have used this several times and they have very reasonable rates. I think I paid $5.00 Can. to have my All J interior cargo rack shipped there and there is no duty on stuff that is made in the states. Hope this helps you.
