I couldn't get the poll feature to work...

I just wanted to see what was more popular for those thinking about getting a bumper down the road. The winch capable bumper would be angled so it would minimize the impact to the approach angle. However, it would still stick out at the top by about 8-9" to make room for the winch. Shackle hitch and tow hitch only would be much closer to the body.

Tow Hitch -

Shackle Hitch -

I like a winch bumper because you always have the winch available and ready. It's nice to have the winch, even on the road in inclement weather, to pull others and yourself out. Then again, I've never had to use my winch since I installed it a year ago.

well I also vote winch, its extra weight, and sticks out further, but you never know when you may need it. I put mine on my ARB in november and Ive already used it over 20 times, pulling myself out and other. Actually I just got home from pulling a friend of mine out.

Its better to have it and not need it, than need and not have it... IMO

I also vote for a winch bumper. I'm not concerned about the weight up front considering future plans and I like having it there for the same reasons everyone else has already stated.

I'm designing a bumper that should be completed at the end of next week. I could've gone either way but the guy said it's better to have room for a winch later than to have to do another bumper. I agreed with him and though I don't have room for a winch right now, I was thinking of mounting an air compressor there underneath until I did. I was just looking for some feedback from the group. Thanks for the feedback guys.

Dave
