Post subject: | ARB Bumper Install ? |
I just went to a local 4x4 shop and asked them how much they would charge to install my ARB bumper and winch. They said that it would take about 5-6 hours to install and that it would cost about 500.00-600.00 dollars!! ![]() Is their anybody around the No. Virginia area that could do this/help me with it?? Thanks for all your help |

More like 250 an hour, thats just stupid, they either dont want to do it or dont know how. Heck get me a motel room, pay for my gas and 75.00 for food, and misc. and I will drive down and install it for you!!! Oh should of checked to see where you live first!! Really its not that hard drill 6 holes after taking off the front bumper (2 minute job) fit the mounting bracket up cut the fenders, slam on the bumper 2 hours max with a lot of breaks thrown in. DO NOT PAY THEM TO DO IT!! ![]() ![]() |

you do need an extra set of hands, or a good floor jack with a strap, but its definitely doable in the garage and it did take most of the day, WITHOUT a winch on top of the bumper, so yours will take a little longer... here is a link with a few pics of when we installed that bad boy on my kj... if you have any questions, pm or post, but the directions are fairly user friendly. http://s136.photobucket.com/albums/q177/moose45432/ ( thanks for hosting the pics MOOSE ) |

Thank you guys for all your help!! raceinfan: That is a good idea, I will post this also in the Mid Atlantic section as well ![]() Universeman: Yeah, I guess it averages out to about 100.00 an hour. I thought that it was a little outrageous too. Tommudd: Thanks for the info. I definitly won't have them install it for me. I will have to come up with something else. Thanks again for your help and offer! ![]() jasonk: I really appreciate the pictures!! Thanks again everyone for your help!! I will post this in the Mid Atlantic section and see if their is anyone closer that might be able to give me a hand!! Thanks again Tommudd for the offer! ![]() |

Just noticed in your signature that you have a 2.5" Rusty's. Whether it's a coil or a spacer lift, it will not support the weight of the bumper and winch ![]() Stop where you're at, and figure what you're gonna do to support about 170 lbs. hanging out over the front end first ![]() |
