My 05 Renegade has the remaining factory warranty along w/ the extended warranty i purchased. My question is pertaining to a coil spring spacer lift. Would that void any warranty? I would like to think it would not since you are not modifiying the steering geometry, or really altering the drivetrain. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I only want a 2 inch coil spring spacer lift, w/ more aggressive tires. As this is my daily driver. And i live in Maine.. i know they are very strict about lifts.. but the law states you can go two inches over stock for vehicles w/ ABS. Thanks in advance.. |

It won't void all your warranty...it could be a sticking point if CVJoints or BallJoints fail due to more severe angles than stock. A 1.5" lift actually doesn't change the overall angles to the CVJoints...just makes them go from down to up (hope that makes sense) the same degrees basically. Biggger tires will put extra wear on Ball Joints because of weight but those are wearable items anyway. The Rack and Pinion is also something to watch with bigger/heavier tires ect. So what I am trying to say, the big things like tranny/engine ect should not be affected...now front aluminum diff might not... |

I've seen this posted several times and have skimmed over it, but could someone point me to the section of this act that is directly related to our warranty situation. Thank You! |

A 1.5" lift accommodates 31" tires. As a compromise for daily driving and occasional offroading, I put on 29.5" on my stock rims, size 245/70R16. All is right with the world. The Grabber AT2's 8" tread width gives my Liberty a nice solid footing on the ground. They're good on pavement, snow, rocks, dirt/sand, and shallow mud. (Get a real mud-terrain tire of you plan to frequent mud bogs!) The tires are annoying in gravel, however, because the grooves are just small enough to collect 1/4" stones, which fly out like bullets once you're on pavement. Which 1.5" lift are you considering? OME coil springs would give you 1.5" of lift, but since you're going with spacers, I don't know of what else is out there other than Daystar's KJ09123. That's the kit I have, and I'm happy with it. I got a great deal from All J Products (http://www.boulderbars.com) If you don't go offroad much, a less-expensive lift leaves you money to buy underbody armor, which is just as important -- if not more -- than offroad tires and ground clearance. You could probably fit a 245/70/16 or 255/70/16 with no rubbing issues...245/75/16s with trimming. You might want to get longer rear shocks but not absolutely needed with just 1.5" of lift. A spacer lift (inside the front strut) will stiffen the front end a bit...not a bad thing IMHO. Getting OME springs all the way around would be a very good choice also with an upgrade in struts and shocks...Just depends on how much you want to spend. Rocky Road has a "combo" lift that many have tried and liked. AllJs has the OME Springs and DayStar Puc lifts and are very helpful. |
