One of the biggest changes in the Liberty will be invisible to most of the general public—at least, those who don’t get down on their hands and knees to peek under the new ute. For 2008, the Liberty eschews its live rear axle—and trucklike ride—in favor of the better on-road comfort and maneuverability of an independent front and five-link rear suspension setup.

TOO FUNNY...first he uses "eschews" instead of drops or shuns and second, he definitely doesn't understand what a 5 link is and that it is STILL a LIVE AXLE. I wish these guys would stop trying to sound like they know what they are talking about and start to do real research instead.

I don't know enough about cars to know what "5 link" anything is, but I just took a close look at the underside of a prototype KK and I couldn't see anything dramatically different about the rear axle.

They've done something interesting with the steering knuckles in front, though, perhaps to address the LBJ issue. Maybe I can get some pics tomorrow.

All that is added is a panhard bar(track bar) to the rear end.
