I do not have one on either of my KJ's (or XJ for that matter) and neither has felt unsafe at any time w/ it off. It well help your rear axle to flex a little better while wheeling.

Suprized the swaybar avenger hasn't posted yet.The rear bar doesn't do much since it is not hard mounted the the unibody, the front on the other had is down right scary at anything above 10 mph when turning.Have had my rear bar of for acouple of months now with zero problems and no funny driving problems.

I've thought of taking it off, I know Gris has it off and the flex on the pics I've seen are sweet.

If you tow, you want it on. Otherwise, it is fine without it. The difference is minimal-- unless you really load the rear end. Good news is it is pretty simple to take it off and put it back on.

You'll take it off and forget it existed, honestly. But in case you do ever tow something, don't lose the bolts

That's why you run the bolts back in the holes  .Oh by the way I towed like 4000lbs from WA to CO without my rear bar on and had no handling issues at all,but that was my experence and it may differ from person to person.

I never thought about that. I didn't get my trailer until I had already taken it off, so I have nothing to compare it too. I doesn't feel bad towing. I mean, I never thought to myself "gee, why does towing this trailer such?" Granted, the most I ever towed at once was probably 1000lb in a 5x8 trailer.

I towed a larger pop-up tent trailer with and w/out it and didn't notice any difference.

the sway bar avenger would post more of his vast knowledge and experience but it would fall on deaf ears projecting from the craniums inhabited by small minds.

as expected.
