I'm looking for lift option for my CRD. A 3'' preferable, any suggestion on a good bolt on lift would be appreciated. Looking for as little fab work as possible. But i want a good quality one for reliability. thanks for any help |

I have had my CRD lifted since the day I bought it two years ago. The CRD has several differences when compared to the gassers that you must take into account when lifting the vehicle. The main differences are: front end weighs about 200lbs more, the CV axles are shorter, and the front differential sits about an inch lower. You have several options. The lift that I have is the 2 1/2" Rocky Road OTT lift. This lift places a spacer "Over The Top" of the front coils. This is a good lift for the CRD and will not cause you any ball joint issues because the CRD has the lower front differential unlike '03+ of the gas Liberties and it maintains the stock springs. Warning this lift is very hard on the front struts and the rear has to be tightened every six months or so. Next is the 2 1/2" Daystar puck lift. This lift placed pucks on the front spring to achieve lift in the front. This has been a cheap and effective way af lifting the CRD. Up until recently the Frankinlift used parts of the Daystar puck system to create the ultimate lift for the CRD. Starting next week a New Frankelift by boulderbars.com will be released next week, but it may be called something different because it is more like a 2 1/2" Old Man Emu spring lift. This lift uses no spacers. Just taller and heavier springs. This is the lift that we all have been waiting for. I believe that this lift when combined with some spacer will be able to achieve about 3 1/4" to 3 1/2" lift because of the lowered front differential. I hope this helps. |
