OK I got the lift on and everything is great fit very good and got a nice 3" lift out of it on my 05.

the problem is this... the rear rides like a lowrider hydro hopper! like the shocks are not doing a thing! I called and he said that I might have installed them upside down! there were no instructions so I put the shock body on the frame like the OEM one came out. He said it should be on the axle.

have you ever heard of this before??

Mike

I have the shock body on the axle and it works great. No problems here!

As long as you used all the same mounts then you should be fine with the shock placement. One end mounts to the frame and the other to the axel.

I actually turned my shocks unside down on my FJ40. The theory is that they will ride softer with the body up. Not all shocks will work properly this way, so I have heard. My shock bodies are down on my Rusty's lift and it is nice.

I did the same think when I first put my lift on. They dont work upside down. Turn them over so the shock body is down and attached to the axel. It took me about an hour of driving before I realized what I had done wrong and corrected it in about 30 minutes.

Everything has run fine since and that was 14K ago.

Easy mistake to make. Just turn the shock over and it will ride fine.

Kkinny rod side up fat body side down; make sure you have the correct spacers so that you have no gap in the side that attaches to the frame or it will make loud banging sounds. Good luck!
