OME do say there is a 1.5" front increase and a 1.75" rear increase.

I've noticed that a lot of users of OME lifts ended with the rear much more lifted than the front. Even using medium at the front and light for the rear!. Is that typical with OME lifts? I thought that you could get the same 1.5" at both ends. It is a hassle having to struggle with spacers to level the whole thing. Things don't look good for my 2.5CRD as it weighs 35kg(77lbs)more than the 3.7v6 and they don't sell anything stiffer than medium spring (OME927) as far as I know. I like a lot the OME springs and shocks but not at the cost of nosing that way. Any OME users out there?Please help. Cheers |

Edwin and I installed the OME lift with heavy duty springs on his and it sits level. He netted 2.5" all around. I'm sure he could give you more info on it. |

Same result with mine. Netted about 2.5" in the rear are about 1.5" in the front. That is why I have added spacers. |

Thanks for the answers. I suppose your height numbers are after settling down the suspension. Mmmm..that OME quality control of the springs maybe is not as good as I thought..1" more than they claim..What do you think? Cheers |

Who installed? Make sure the front's are not in the rear and also sometimes the driver sides are a different spring rate than the passenger need to make sure they are in the right spots. They also have to be seated a certain way with 1 side of the spring facing up. That is how my OME lift for my Discovery was, could be different with the KJ though... just a thought. |

I'm thinking that OME makes more than one length set of springs and mybe suppliers are ordering the wrong ones. just a theory since some people don't seam to have that problem. |

Ian OME have three front springs for the Liberty: OME925...Gas, stock or light load OME926...Gas medium load or Diesel stock/light load OME927...Gas heavy load or Diesel medium load For a diesel heavy loaded you have to cope with 1/2" less. This was for the 'old' 2.5CRD now discontinued. Things are going to be worse with the 2.8CRD as it is a bit heavier. What is surprising for me is that even the gas Liberties with the heaviest spring at front and soft at rear are not even after the lift ( What Eddo said is an example ). I didn't buy any lift for now, but for less money I think that the BDS 2" lift could work as well as the OME and let the things more balanced. The 2.5CRD was the common diesel we had in Europe before 2005. I think was the same in Australia. The engine is a VM modified by Daimler ( or so we were told ). Cheers [/b] |

I got more in the front than in the rear so my petrol KJ sits about level now medium front springs Light duty rears no Bar work yet |

why not do a clevis lift on the front to even things out - you can easily get 1/2 inch |

Hey Guys, On the OME lift, it will be taller in the rear. We design em that way. ARB/OME Suspension kits are what's called "Expedition Lifts". They give you more flexibilty when you load it up. It's normal, you didn't put it in wrong. It doesn't matter which set of springs you use, but you can compensate a little by using 927's in the front with 947's in the rear. That helps if it bugs you, but it'll stiffen the front a little more than you'd like w/ out a winch bar on it. That's why our's ride so much better on the trail, we think of stuff like that

My KJ has HD OME lift and the ride is great, even with a load. It sits a little higher in the back, but when loaded it gets closer to level. I would rather it sit a little higher without a load. That's uglier than homemade soap when you load something down and it looks like it's draggin it's butt!

i put the light duty ome springs in my 04 front and back. what a joke the rear was about 3 inches higher. so i threw about 200 pounds of weights in the back drove around for over a month after i took the weights out it was still over 3 inches higher. i took the rear ome rear springs out threw them away and got a new set of rear springs from the jeep dealer for a 2001. my jeep sits perfect now i got about 1 1/4 up front and 1 1/2 in back. |
