don't waste your money on that RRO spare tire mount thing.

It's a total piece of crap, and will net you (at most) .75" more of clearance.

If you really want one, I'll mine to ya.

I actually put the RRO tire lift thingy on already, I like it, and I think it's built pretty solidly.

My main concern was to get the thing out and away from the glass, because I plan on going with 265/70/R16 tires (with 16"x8" rock crawlers with less backspacing, I'm probably going to go with 4.5 or 4.25" backspacing.) Plus putting the tire up a little gets it away from the bumper and makes the back of the jeep seem a little more agressive. And I can avoid situations like the one thechucklesstart had where he had to take his spare tire off to avoid mashing it up against a rock he was coming off of.

Does anyone see me having problems with running 265/70/R16's with rock crawlers after the frankenlift? I still have to pound down the pinch weld, but other than that will I have any rubbing? I read the tire chart in the tires section of the forum, and it says that I will have minimum to no rubbing with that size. I plan on purchasing MT/Rs BTW...

Why not just get wider tires with more backspacing? 70mm is pretty narrow. Just a thought, the rubbing would only be in full wheel lock.

forgive me if i'm wrong, but the tire size 265/70 is 265mm tire width with 70% of that width as the sidewall height (~185.5mm).
