 Post subject: Front wheel wobble

I've never really noticed this before but:

I get tthe front tires off the ground and grab them horizontally, shaing them left and right. I get some play doing that. Not much, less that 1/8" on the left side and less than that on the right. No play at all top to bottom.

Reminds me of a steering arm that is a little loose.

But is this normal for the KJ?

I'd think if it were ball joints or wheel bearings I'd get the wobble on all axis'. No?

That is what I would think. Mine also moves the same way slightly, just think that is how most vehicles are. The stearing is not super rock solid especially a jeep. However no other movement, so I figure all is good

Well if more folks try it and say there's does it too then I guess its normal. What about it folks. Get out the floor jack and try it. :roll:

Sounds like the tie-rod ends are getting worn.........wheel bearing and ball joints show more in the vertical axis than side to side.

Sounds like an excuse to use my jack, ok you sold me. hehe I'll check it out tomorrow after I get my oil changed. '05 with only 3300 miles on it.
