Hi all fellow Liberty owners.
I have just change the wheels and tyres on my Cherokee Ltd (liberty) in New Zealand. It has been lifted 2.5" with the Sky Jacker Suspension Lift. I have just changed the wheel to Mangel Steel Wheels 15"x 8" with a 19mm offset. I have Maxxis Mudder 31"x10.5"x15" mud tyres. Its a lot noisy now for the road but should be sweet off road. The only problem I have is that the front tyres are rubbing on the wheel arch. Has anyone had a similar problem and how did they fit this?
Also how do you get the spare to fit on the spare tyre space as in NZ we have a hinged plastic cover that fits around the wheel and the number plate is fixed to this.
Any help is appreciated.

If you search around a little more you will found a lot of good ideas on this. The most common fixes are to cut out the pinch weld in the rear of the wheel well and to heat up the plastic in the front of the wheel well and push it out. If you want an extrem fix then you could cut the bumper like steakgoddes did.

I don't think people are cutting out the pinch weld. They are bending it sideways by hammering it down. I kept my plastic flap where the pinch weld is located (didn't cut it all the way off. Softened it up and flattened it. The used extra plastic to "melt/weld/solder" the plastic into place.


Don't forget to spray rust proofing primer (Krylon Rust Tough) is great.

The front of the wheelwell, Just used the heat gun to soften the plastic and pushed it forward.

DO NOT CUT OUT THE PINCH WELD. Some people have done that and it began to seperate after a while. They ended up welding metal plates back in to keep it together I believe. Save yourself that hassle!

Cut off just the plastic covering and pound on the metal with a sledge until it lays over on its side. Do not cut any metal out of there.
