I hope this is ok to post here I have a 2002 LTD and just purchased a rear hitch for it. When I went to install it the bolts looked way to big. They sent me 12x1.75x40 size bolts has anyone else had this problem? Do I just run a 12x1.75 tap in the holes to clean all the rust and corrosion out or are the holes a different size? Any help is really appreciated.

I think this was posted already last week. Someone did state that 12mm is the right size. I remember mine not fitting well either until I sprayed the threads with rust remover, scrubbed with an old toothbrush and followed with wd-40 and scrubbed again. After that, they went in fine.
