This Thur, while on my way to work, my upper radiator hose blew out on me!! I have close to 69,000 on my 04 Sport 3.7, most of those miles are highway. This was a big split, almost 3" and thankfully I made it to work before the motor really over heated. Has anyone else ever had a hose blow out with this amount of miles? I work in N. VA and had a HELL of a time locating a replacement hose, Advance didn't carry any OEM parts, they sent me to a Jeep dealership which was back ordered, so they sent me to another one in another county. I spent 1 hr and 25 minutes driving around, thankfully I did it while at work in a Govt vehicle, but still, what a pain! So once I got it installed and home I put a roll of duct tape in the back, just in case!! I should have replaced the lower when I had the time but I didn't, will try for that soon.

I just replaced both uppler and lower hoses on mine. The lower started leaking slightly. I have 99K on mine.

You should never continue to drive the Jeep when a hose blows totally out. It may not say its overheating on the guage b/c there isnt any fluid in the block for the guage to get a reading off of. Hopefully you didnt do any damage to anything.

Hoses should be checked at ever oil change and probably changed out at 60k along with tranny oil, tcase, spark plugs, and diff oils.

I didn't have a choice but to drive the remaining miles to work, it was at 5 AM and I was on the beltway heading to N. VA. . The temp gauge almost maxed out when I parked. So far there doesn't seem to be any damage.
