Been Frankened! However, she seems a little 'tippy'. :? Is it the fact I've still got my 235/70 16s on? Or that the camber is off, since I don't plan on realigning it for a couple of weeks, to give the springs time to settle AND for me to get time to put Al's Uppers in. I'm hoping that once I've got the 245/70s, and have driven it a while, it will get better. Anyone have any ideas? (I'm going to drive it up to Cheboygan, MI, about 325 miles away this weekend, so I should be able to give the lift a good break-in.

You need to hit some good dips and maybe even take it offroad to break it in. Flex it really good.

I will I will! Oh, trust me, I will! South of Cheboygan, the area can be kind of like getting out in the boonies, out in KY, so TRUST me I'll get some flexin! I was just hoping to confirm my hopes and suspicions. :)

After my lift was installed my KJ was all over the road because it was so far out of alignment. The more I drove it the better it seemed to get. Don't know if it was breaking in or I was just getting used to it. All I know is I would not have taken it on a 300+ mile trip right after it was installed, it was that bad. Maybe you could take it somewhere that warranties the alignment and get it do before your trip, then just take it back in after it settles. I know Sears gives you a six month / 6,000 mile warranty, and they only charge $65.00.

Hmm.......... I'd do that, if I didn't have a set of Al's upper arms waiting to be installed. I don't think Sears is going to be willing to honor the warranty if I change out the arms. Besides, I weigh in at around 226, and a buddy of mine that's riding shotgun weighs over 300. Between us, we OUGHT to be able to get it to settle down.

Your right, I didn't think of that. All I can say is that if it is as bad as mine was, good luck and be careful!!!

How is Joe mechanic at Sears going to know you changed the arms? They just put the sensors on and tweak them until they are in the green. They won't even pay attention.

I don't know...when I put Al's arms on it was OBVIOUS that I had done something when I rolled it in to get an alignment. You could just look at the front wheels and tell the tops were sticking way further out. Even your basic idiot would question what happened to put the alignment out that far.

It was my castor that was off when I lifted mine. I felt like it handled to well.

After a week with the Rusty's coil lift I went for an alignment and it was way out of specs,It's much better after the alignment but they couldn't get the caster to within specs but told me there won't be uneven tire wear.

I went with 8" rims. This pushed the wheels outward also, making the KJ much more stable.

i have wheel spacers and 265/75/16's.. the fatter tire and stance help a lot in the tipsyness of the KJ. get your lined up.. if you let it go your tires will wear unevenly shortening their life.. as well as other joints in your front end... being properly aligned is important!

Spent the weekend in northern Michigan, going over ORV trails. I REALLY worked the suspension. It's like a whole different Jeep. It's settled down, and driving MUCH better.
