Just finished my coil lift a couple hours ago. Took it for the first test drive and I have all sorts of noises coming from the front suspension and rear while driving. I can hold the roof racks and rock the KJ from left to right and hear it popping in the front. I think the rear is just the shocks which I will fix next weekend. THe front troubles me. Any suggestions to what may be loose? I tightened everything up with the suspension at full droop while on the jack stands. I think maybe tomorrow ill get under there and tighten everthing with it sitting level. SOund like a plan? |

Check the upper and lower bolts for the sway bar end link. |

Yea I was thinking the sway bar myself cause it also happens when I turn the steering wheel. I had those links fail on and old Buick once upon a time and it sounds similar now to that. Thanks for the suggestion. Ill check in the AM. Time for some cinco de mayo celebration now!! |

For the rear it is most likely your upper shock mounts. The Rusty's kit needs some washers to fill in the gap where the shock attaches. I agree with the other suggestions above about the front. Check your sway bar end links. If after you re tighten them and it still pops you may need to replace the end links. They cost about $80 bucks for the set. Sometimes when the bushings in the links go bad they don't pop until after it has been taken apart and put back together. I guess that aggravates them. Good luck! |

UPDATE: So the passenger side sway bar link was loose allowing the swaw bar to pop around. That was an easy one. The rear I tightened very tight and slightly deformed the metal where the shock sits between. This quieted it down some. Sometime this week ill get a few more washers and squeeze them in where I can. Thanks for the help guys. Ill also be posting pics in the next couple of days. Look for em!!!! Josh |

Memorial Day you say? Is this posted in the NE site? Hopefully I can make it, I have a big bash I put on every year for Mem day but thats only one day (prob Sat). When is the run, and where.... |

Josh Did you throw away the original shocks? Maybe try cutting out those metal bushings and re-use them in the new shocks? They are the correct width, no washers needed. |

Yea i had the shocks in my hand thinking about doing that but decided I would just use the washers. I think the OD of the stock bushing is much larger than the Rustys shock bushing. Washers work fine, just squeeze in as many as you can. I ended up going to Lowes and getting some stainless 1/2" ID washers in two different sizes plus the ones that came with the lift. That way you can mix and match to get exactly the right fit. Then just tighten the hell outta it and youll be ok. I used some Loctite 262 on the bolts also to prevent and loosening. JD |

Yeah I had the same problem until I used the torque wrench. |
