First I hope to avoid trouble I am not sure that this is OK for this section or not? Any who Here it is the 3rd LA Off-Roaders Expo I am 1 of the "Trail Leader/Trail Guides" and would like to invite EVERY one out to this. I have posted this in some of the club sections but we are realy pushing the folks from out of town to make a showing. These types of events help promote offroading as a fun family event and not what most people think it is ,a bunch of "out laws" in 4X4's tearing up the land. The more people that come out to these events the better we ,the offroading community, look to every one else. I have spoken with the Tangi. department of tourisam ,for the parish or county, and they will be calling me back on Monday with DISCOUNTED hotel rates for this event. They realize that this event could be huge and help us out. Last year the rate was like $50 or $60 a night and that was only a block from the event and right off the highway. As you can see from the flyer we have sponsores like Superlift we also have Interco tire as well as many others that I dont know. Last year we had loads of stuff to give away in a rafel and will do the same this year. I think we gave away a set if tires ,hint hint 245/75 Iroks could be gotten for like $1 we also gave away about 10 "rock rings" from super lift along with loads of stuff from the local venders that will be on site selling saturday I think that if we have 15 or 20 KJ out there and we all start asking superlift about the "KJ Lift" they may take note. I am realy going out there as well by giving out a phone # for my self if any one has questions and can not find the answers 504-256-2553 Jason Thompson Check out the web site ,it may still be under construction but will be up very soon Also if you are driving in from out of town let me know ,as soon as you can, what time you think you will be in so that we can put togeather an "ice breaker" party so that we have time to hang out and get the "lay of the land" The town that we are having the event in is a collage town so "partying" will be easy if that is your thing Hope to see loads of KJ's out here
Thanks Jason |

Man, if i was there I would be more than happy to help you out. In fact, we need more of these organized events out west. There have been two runs that I know of that have been altered due to closed trails. Teaching responsible off-roading to the next generation is the only way our hobby is going to survive. Looks like a fun time and I hope it is a great success. Dave |

am I to guess from the looks of the responce from the posts that not one person other than FreedomKJ is going to come out? Guys if this is true then it is a sad sad day for the KJ Lets look at it ,5+ years out on the market ,3rd year for an event focused at the Jeep brand and 4X4 and NO KJ's the first year 2 the second and maybe 3 this year? What is up? I would think that we could be more like the guys who drive FJ's by now and get our act togeather to do some wheelin? Those guys wheel and show up to public events or so they say. I have talked to a few on the web as well as a few in person and on the phone all wanting info and some worried about making the trails "stock" as I have stated here "the trails were based around the idea that stocker and every thing on up can have fun ,they have by passes" if every one who said they were comeing shows up then there will be 15+ FJ's and 2 KJ's maybe ,MAYBE, 3 KJ's I will not give up the fight but how does it look to the rest of the off-road world? If the KJ is ever going to be respected then it will need to earn it and the only way to earn it is to wheel When I first joined the 2 groups that I wheel with I got no respect do to my jeep not having the standard 33's and related junk now how ever they know "He can't realy expect to make that on 30's can he" "just wach" "he makes it I dont know how but he can?" |

I hear that I also know that there is more than a few guys with in 4-8 hours drive that have all talked about getting some wheelin time in as a group and I have posted up more than a few chances and now this and where are they now? To me it looks bad and others ,who know I am on a KJ based forum all ask "where are the KJ guys?" how do you answer that? they know why my wife has stoped showing up in her's ,she is pregnant, that is about the only reason I can see for not wheelin and she just stoped showing up 5 months a go and is due at the end of the month |

Hey man..I went to this event last year in my wrangler. My dad came in his as well. I've got a 2005 wrangler and a 2006 CRD liberty. I'll be coming to your event this sunday as well as my dad. I've been toying with the idea of using the CRD instead of the wrangler this year but i'm hesitant because i haven't bought the skid plates yet. I can just picture me crushing in the oil pan or filter, or killing the exposed diesel tank. What are your thoughts? |

I would say come out with the wrangler mostly because of the mud I would bring out the KJ on Saturday check out the Vid. to see why |
