My 06 Renegade (3.7 L) keeps going into limp mode, but, it only seems to happen when I've driven for several miles around town.

What happens is the car will have a hard downshift between 30-40 MPH and remain in second gear until the car is restarted. I can set the cruse control and the problem doesn't happen, only when accelerating between 30-40 MPH.

And the problem doesn't happen all the time. It seems to happen when the outside temperature is 85-100 degrees outside. Today was between 55-65 degrees outside and I didn't have an issue.

I plan on getting codes this week.

I did a lot of Googling on his issue and was wondering if anyone else had a similar issue.

My CRD 06 have that when I bought it! Some crazy mech was doing quick fix mod's to fix the problem without luck!!! Everything get back to Normal when I change Transmission Control Unit for new!
