Post subject:  New mods report

Just wanted to give a little feedback on a couple recent mods.

RRO Super Sliders
Pro's: HEAVY duty (definately not gonna' bend em'), extends up the rocker at an angle 4 added protection, looks really good, easy install (did myself with no help. Definately easier w/a buddy though) Cons: Fits great on passenger side (nice & tight) but the arms that attach to the unibody are both too short on the driver's side. Fix=i used plate steel as shim to bolt into place but for $400 smackers certainly shouldn't have too. Will talk to RRO soon as i get a chance to breathe.

Verdict: i'd be stoked if not for the misfit :?

Aeroturbine exhaust #AT2525
Pro's: Cost=$190.00 installed. SOLID construction (looks great and is polished stainless!). Exhaust note is LOUD when getting on it and at cold start. Once warmed up it has a deep, rich note that sounds  . Wouldn't say that i notice a "seat of the pants" difference in acceleration (it is a Jeep after all) but low & mid range definately improved. No empirical data but i will say that i have undoubtedly noticed improvement in MPG. i am definately going back to the gas station less since the install and that's HUGE given today's prices (sold my left kidney just to get a half tank the other day). Sorry no measureable data but with my other mods it's almost a mute point to most. Cons: Though smaller in length, the shape of it is perfectly round, rather than oval, so it gives about 2 inches less clearance than stock. If you plan on wheelin' you should consider this.

Verdict: LOVE the thing!!! Just wish no clearance issues but i'll find out soon enough how much of an issue it will be. If you don't like loud get model AT2525XL. It has a resonator built in that muffles it more but still gives the low exhaust note and doesn't effect performance.

Hope this helps!

I just keep seeing more and more reasons to avoid RRO. RockLizard's sliders look stronger, they're cheaper, and I've never heard of them not fitting. And I bet Marty wouldn't steal $200 from anyone, either. Still waiting, Glenn

Here is an e-mail I got from them about the size.

Terry,

Thank you for your interest in our products. The muffler we recommend
for your '05 Jeep Liberty V6 would be our Turbine 2525. It has a 2.5"
inlet/outlet, 20" overall length, and a 6" diameter body. If you have any
further questions, feel free to contact us.

Thanks,

Tyler Andersen

It's low but there. Crack a window or turn the radio on & i don't hear it.

i recorded a video/audio clip to post but couldn't get the computer to acknowledge my buddies cam. Going to try w/another cam this weekend. If successful i will post so all can hear. Will also post pics of it installed.
