I am working on a double jointed cv for the IFS. I would like to know what you were doing, where it broke, and if it was stress/angle caused. Thanks for your help and it will be greatly appreciated and well worth it if I can get some replys!

One word - Skyjacker.

Mine didn't break at one specific point, but after a few hundred miles of regular driving at extreme angles. Even after that it was functional, but I got loud popping noises when I was in 4 wheel drive.

So was it the teeth in the cv that were making the popping noise? Any idea what "broke" on it?

I think the cage got worn. There were some gouges in it. That allowed the ball bearings to move a bit too much.

Clint, are they for sale yet? How much of a taller lift can we expect to get? Im building this cv joint on the idea that I can run 35's with the cradle at stock mounts, maybe dropped maby 1 inch to clear a Dana 44 if necessary.

I've been checking the website at J.E.Reel every so often and haven't seen anything yet...I won't be doing that mod until maybe next spring though, so I'm patient.

I just picked up a cv from my local u-pull yard. Anyway I can tell if its good or bad aside from putting it on and driving with it?
